The Life of the Holy Prophet (SAW)
When the LIGHT of ﷺ reached HIS father Abdullahi, it has a great impact on him. Not only him but whoever carried the LIGHT like how it happened to Idriss who for the sake of the LIGHT he’s in heaven now, also to Ismael son of Prophet Ibrahim who for its sake his father wasn’t able to slaughter hima, also for the sake of the LIGHT, the father of ﷺ wasn’t slaughtered. This tells the power of HIS LIGHT ﷺAbdullah’s father, Abdul Muthalib before made a promise to Allah that, if Allah give him ten kids who will prevent him from the troubles of Quraish he will slaughter one out of the ten as giving gratitude. Allah did gave him what he wanted & now it is his turn to fulfill his promise. He called his children & explained the issue to them, now what to do? He asked each of them to write his name on a paper, he collected the papers & place it in a well found in The Holy Khabba, who’s paper come out first will be the one to be slaughtered, Abdallah’s paper came out three times continuously whenever the papers are been put in the well, he had no option than to slaughter Abdallah although he’s the youngest among them & the one he loves most. The people of Quraish, despite their hatred & wickedness towards Abdul Muthalib, they disagree for him to slaughter Abdallah that, it may turn into a culture, according to Shaykh Ibrahim Niass this is the best handwork Quraish ever did. In other not to slaughter Abdullah, they were demanded to pay a penalty after consulting a priest at their time who asked them to make a random selection between Abdullah & 20 camels. They should write down the name of Abdullah on a paper & also 20 camels on a paper, whenever the name of Abdallah comes out first, they should add another 20 more camels till the name of camel comes out first, they did it till they spent 100 camels before the camel’s name came out first, then people of Quriash said to him, Allah have accepted your penalty but Abdul Mathalib refused & repeated the act three times continuously, still the camel’s name showed up first then he believed. So SAW’s father was set free by 100 camels & today in Islam, if you kill a soul, you’re demanded to pay his family what’s called DIYA (compensation) which is 100 camels. After SAW’s father has been set free with 100 camels, women of Mecca had a severe crush on him, they imagined the handsomeness & brightness out of him which they’ve never seen before, this resulted to be The LIGHT of ﷺ he’s carrying. One woman from the clan (Asad) couldn’t stand it till she displayed herself to Abdullah that he should meet up with her & she’s going to give him 100 camels as he was been set free with but he said, it it better for him to die than to attend to her offer. Later his father seek the hand of Nana Aminat, daughter of Wahb for marriage. Nana Aminat was by then the most valuable & respected woman in the Quraish clan. According to historians their wedding happened same day Abdullah was set free & he was 17 years then. The next day after their marriage, he was on his way to Khabba then met the lady who first wanted him to meet her, he smiled & said to her, ‘what’s up with you, why won’t ask for what you first wanted’? She answered with anger & said to him, I wanted you for The LIGHT in you, now that the LIGHT is no more in you, what will I do with you? then she turned away. Not only her but all the women in Mecca stop chasing after Abdallah after he got married to Nana Amina, all because the LIGHT in him which they were all rushing for have now transferred to Nana Amina, with this she became the best MOTHER ever. May Allah’s peace be upon on HER.

Ruhul Adab
Commentary of Imam Hassan Cissé
51. Here, Shaykh Ibrahim honors and quotes a statement (in the next verse 115) made by the great Senegalese Shaykh Ahmadu Bamba, who referred to himself as Khadimul Rasul.
52. Know, O my brother, may Allah shower His mercy on you, that if you draw near to Allah a hand’s breadth, Allah will draw near to you an arm’s length. And if you draw near to Allah an arm’s length, He draws near to you two arm’s length. And if you go to Allah walking, Allah will go to you running. And in this Hadith, Allah did not differentiate between those who had come before and those who would come after, or between the red people and black people. Indeed, the fact that a person’s skin is black does not prevent him from being among those closest to Allah. It has been reported concerning the black Abyssinian people that the Prophet SAW said, “If belief were to be found in the star of Surraya, these people would be to attain it”. And the Prophet SAW once said of the black Persian, Salman Al Farsi, “As for Salman, he is one of my household (Ahl-Bayt)”.
In a similar manner, the book entitled “Jawahir Al Hisan”has explained the ayat of the Qur’an mentioning the “others” where Allah says, “As well as (to confer all these benefits upon) others of them who have not already joined them (62:3)”. For when the Prophet SAW was asked the identity of the “others” mentioned in this ayat, he SAW took Salman by the hand and said, “if religion was in the star of Surraya, these people could attain it”. Such has been reported by both Muslim and Bukhari.
O my brother, may Allah shower His mercy on you! Look how the Prophet SAW has distinguished the people of Salman. For at that particular gathering, Salman was the only black man. From this fact, know then that there is good in black people.
In a Hadith reported by Sa’ad As Sa’idi, as mentioned in the book “Ruhul Bayan”, the prophet SAW said that he had seen himself in a dream watering black goats, and after the black goats, pink goats. When he SAW asked Abu Bakr RA to interpret the dream, Abu Bakr said, “O Prophet of Allah SWT, the black goats are the Arabs and the pink goats are the non-Arabs who come to follow you after the Arabs. At this the Prophet SAW said, yes, this is what the Angel Gabriel has also explained to me.
Consider the ayat, “O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted. (49:13)”. Allah has made this statement to prevent us from boasting on account of lineage. In other words, the most honored in the presence of Allah is the most righteous, even if he is an Abyssinian slave, black like Bilal RA. If a person wants to boast, then let him boast with righteousness, for surely righteousness is only attained by virtue of the Mercy of Allah the Most High. Have you not seen the Hadith where the prophet SAW says, “I am the Master (Sayyid of all mankind, and it is no boast”. There is no boasting on account of the Mastership or the Prophethood, but only on account of being the servant of Allah. And what an honor to be the servant of Allah! As Muhammad SAW is the slave of Allah, it is enough honor for a person to mention his being a slave, before the Prophethood, as contained in the declaration, “I bear witness that Muhammad is the servant and Messenger of God”.
It has been reported that one day the Prophet SAW passed by a market in Medina where he saw a black boy saying, “Whoever would by me, I have one condition: that he cannot prevent me from praying the five daily prayers behind the Prophet Muhammad (SAW)”. A man bought the boy and the Prophet SAW used to see that boy at every prayer. One day the Prophet SAW did not see him at the Mosque, and when he (SAW) inquired of him, he was told the boy was suffering from fever, and the Prophet (SAW) himself went to visit him. When the Prophet (SAW) asked about him a few days later, he was told the boy was on his deathbed, and the Prophet (SAW) came to visit him again while he still had some movement and spirit in his body. And when the boy died, the Prophet (SAW) himself bathed the boy. And it was at this point that great affairs entered into the affairs of the Muhajireen and the Ansar, and it was then that the ayat was revealed to the prophet SAW that Allah is All-Knowing and aware of a person’s secret conditions.
One Shaykh’s son has said that lineage, even if it is considered with a person’s habits and observance of the Shari’ah, prevents a Noble from marrying a lower-class person. But this statement is rendered obsolete by the appearance of belief and righteousness, which are greater and dearer than lineage. And lineage in the face of righteousness, is as the stars that cease to appear when the sun rises. He who is disobedient to Allah, even if he is a descendent of the Noble Quraish tribe and wealthy like a king, such a man has no right or place beside a righteous believer even if the latter is an Abyssinian slave.
